titleOfInvention Embolic system
abstract An embolic device (8) for delivery into a body cavity includes a longitudinally extending stem portion and a plurality of bristles extending generally outwardly from the stem portion to anchor the device within the body cavity. There may be at least two bristle segments (96) and a bendable portion (95) between the segments (96). The bendable portion (95) is articulated to enable the device to be passed through a catheter placed in a tortuous anatomy or to be deployed in a tortuous vessel, or to span a bifurcation. In some instances, at least some of the bristle segments (96) are spaced apart to accommodate bending of the bristles.
