titleOfInvention | Sensors and methods for measuring pH |
abstract | Measuring pH in vivo using current electrochemical sensors can be particularly difficult due to sensor drift and fouling of the sensor surface. A sensor suitable for measuring pH, especially in vivo pH, may comprise: a sensor tail comprising a first working electrode, a second working electrode and at least one other electrode; a first active portion on said first working electrode, said a first active moiety comprising a species having a pH-dependent redox chemistry; and a second active moiety located on the second working electrode, the second active moiety comprising a substance having a substantially pH-invariant redox chemistry substance. The difference between the first signal from the first active moiety and the second signal from the second active moiety may be related to the pH of the fluid. |
