abstract An ignition timing control device for an internal combustion engine includes a plurality of band-pass filters, a storage device storing a plurality of first learned neural networks, and a processor, and the plurality of band-pass filters make only the respective output values of the knock sensor. Different frequency bands pass through, and the plurality of first learned neural networks are configured to be inputted with output values of the bandpass filters of the frequency bands, respectively. Each neural network is learned in advance so as to output an estimated value representing the value of the knocking intensity when the output value of the filtered band-pass filter is input. The processor calculates an optimum estimated value using a part of the estimated value obtained by excluding the specific estimated value, and performs retardation control of the ignition timing based on the calculated optimum estimated value.
