abstract The present invention provides a method for introducing point mutations into or improving the expression of the coding sequence of the BBD29_11265 gene in coryneform bacteria, which allows strains harboring the mutations to increase the fermentation yield of glutamic acid. The point mutation is to change the 70 th base of BBD 29-11265 gene sequence from guanine (G) to adenine (A) and to change the 24 th alanine of the corresponding encoded amino acid sequence from threonine.
