titleOfInvention Lighting components with in-field micro-devices
abstract A lighting assembly includes a transparent substrate and a plurality of microdevices. The transparent substrate includes a first surface and a second surface opposite to the first surface. The first surface includes a viewing area through which light passes before reaching the window. A plurality of microdevices attached to the first surface are coupled to respective conductive paths. The plurality of micro devices includes at least one micro device located within the viewing area. In some embodiments, the conductive paths are arranged in a pseudo-random manner. In some cases, the viewing area consists of a circuit-free area surrounded by an outer area, and the plurality of microdevices attached to the first surface in the outer area are coupled to respective conductive paths.
