abstract |
The present invention relates to rice male sterility gene NSM1 and its application. The nucleotide sequence of the rice male sterility gene is the nucleotide sequence shown in SEQ ID NO:2. The male sterility-related gene of the present invention affects pollen development and anther dehiscence. The loss-of-function mutant of this gene has normal vegetative growth, but the pollen is aborted, the anthers do not dehiscence, and eventually the plants cannot bear fruit. NSM1 can be used as a male sterility gene in the creation of rice heterosis in the future, which has great development value and application prospects. |
