The invention relates to a method for detecting the content of carbomer in a gel containing carbomer, which is characterized in that a certain amount of alkali solution is added to enable carboxylic groups of carbomer in the gel to exist in an ionic state, then excessive metal salt solution is added to enable the metal salt to be fully combined with the carboxylic groups in the carbomer to generate a complex, and after the complex is removed, the uncombined metal salt is titrated by using a coordination titration solution, so that the content of carbomer in a sample is calculated. The method is suitable for detecting the content of the carbomer in the gel taking the carbomer as a gel matrix or a gel containing the carbomer as a main component, and is simple and accurate and strong in specificity. |
