abstract | The invention provides an image recording method and an image recording system capable of recording an image with suppressed streaks and bleeding on a non-permeable base material. The image recording method includes: determining whether the surface energy of the substrate is less than 50mN/m or more; a step of determining a condition A that a drying condition of a pretreatment liquid containing water and a coagulant is 30% or more by mass ratio to the pretreatment liquid before drying when the surface energy is determined to be less than 50mN/m, and a condition B that the mass ratio is less than 50% when the surface energy is determined to be 50mN/m or more; applying the pretreatment solution to a substrate; drying the applied pretreatment liquid under the drying conditions determined in the above; and a step of applying an ink containing water and a colorant to at least a part of the dried substrate to record an image. |
