abstract |
Glass-based articles are fabricated through a unique ion exchange process that results in glass-based articles with improved stress distribution, with higher stress values at moderate depths. The medium of the ion exchange process includes ions of two or more alkali metal oxides of two or more alkali metal oxides in the base composition of the glass-based substrate in a ratio such that the ions of each alkali metal are associated with the base glass. Each corresponding alkali metal of the alkali metal oxides in the composition is in chemical equilibrium. |
