abstract |
Provided herein are engineered Cry1Da amino acid sequences that exhibit improved lepidopteran insecticidal activity and enhanced lepidopteran repertoire compared to naturally occurring Cry1Da protein toxins. Also provided are polynucleotide sequences intended for use in expressing the improved proteins in plants. Specific embodiments provide compositions comprising insect-inhibiting amounts of engineered proteins, as well as recombinant plants, plant parts and seeds comprising polynucleotide constructs encoding one or more of the improved engineered proteins. |
