Preparation of a lubricant composition having a base oil composition and an additive composition comprising a molybdenum dialkyldithiocarbamate and an organic friction modifier such as at least one oil-soluble monoglyceride of a hydroxypolycarboxylic acid , di- or triglycerides or derivatives thereof, especially when combined with functionally modified polyalphaolefins (such as alphaolefins and ester copolymers), polyalphaolefins and optional additive carriers (such as alkyl When used in combination with a base oil composition of naphthalene. The lubricant compositions of the present invention are found to be particularly useful as lubricant compositions for robotics and robotic gearboxes, industrial gears and wind turbine gears, and especially for gearboxes with rolling elements such as spherical or cylindrical bearings.
