The present disclosure relates, in part, to webs or topsheets for absorbent articles and methods of making the same. The web and topsheet include bicomponent fibers having a first component and a second component, wherein the first component has a different hydrophilicity than the second component. The web and topsheet include continuous landing areas and discrete areas with modified surface energy. One of the first component and the second component forms an outer surface of the fiber in the continuous landing region, and the other of the components has a modified surface energy in the The outer surface of the fiber is formed at least partially in the discrete regions of the fiber such that the discrete regions with modified surface energy have a different hydrophilicity than the continuous landing regions. |
