abstract |
The present invention relates to an aqueous composition comprising cells of at least one halophilic microorganism strain and an alkali metal sulfate in a concentration of at least 30 g/l, based on the total volume of the aqueous composition. The present invention further relates to a method for the treatment of waste water, comprising obtaining or providing waste water, contacting said waste water with cells of at least one halophilic microbial strain, and thereby producing alkali metal sulphuric acid comprising a concentration of at least 30 g/l an aqueous composition of salts, and incubating the aqueous composition under conditions that allow treatment of the wastewater. |
