abstract |
A method of producing a sugarcane transplant unit is disclosed, the method comprising growing sugarcane propagation material in a non-separated planting medium to produce sugarcane, wherein the growing of the sugarcane propagation material results in an emerging plant density of 25 to 200 plants per square meter growing the sugar cane plant to an age of at least 4 months; harvesting the stem when the stem of the sugar cane plant has a length of 10 to 100 cm; cutting the harvested stem into stem segments, wherein the The stem segments are cut into lengths of 1 to 5 centimeters; and one or more of the stem segments are planted into planting containers having a volume of from 10 to 200 cubic centimeters. |
