The present invention relates to a method for preparing an at least partially coated electrode active material, wherein the method comprises the steps of: (a) providing an electrode active material according to the general formula Li 1+x TM 1-x O 2 , wherein TM is a combination of Ni, Co and optionally Mn and optionally at least one metal selected from Al, Ti and Zr, x is 0-0.2, (b) treating said compound with at least one W or Mo An electrode active material having at least one group or ion that is substituted or replaced when the compound reacts with the surface of the electrode active material particles, (c) treating the material obtained in step (b) with a reagent to decompose W or Mo the compound, (d) repeating the sequence of steps (b) and (c) 1-100 times, wherein the average thickness of the obtained coating is 0.1-50 nm. |
