abstract |
A method for making an integrally woven (OPW) airbag includes providing a yarn with a spin finish, and warping the yarn onto at least one beam of a loom. The yarns are simultaneously woven into a fabric airbag structure having a two-layer portion defining an inflatable volume and a single-layer portion forming a seam defining the inflatable volume. The airbag structure is coated to cover the spin finish. The coated airbag structure is cut to define an integrally braided airbag. |
