System and method for extraction and separation of vegetable oils without the use of solvents |
abstract |
A system and method for the extraction and separation of vegetable oils and compounds from plant material without the use of solvents having a vaporization portion further coupled to a centrifugal electrostatic precipitator for collection and separation. The vaporization section receives plant material through which a temperature-controlled inert gas vaporizes oils or compounds from the plant material at a specific vaporization temperature. The extracted vapors enter a centrifugal electrostatic precipitator, where the oil or compound is reduced to a liquid state and collected and separated. The oil with the lower vaporization temperature is collected first, and the remaining oil is collected through specific and progressive vaporization temperature control. In some embodiments, the selected vaporized compound is an exhaust gas that is vented as a vapor by bypassing a centrifugal electrostatic precipitator at a particular known vaporization temperature, thereby avoiding the collection of potentially toxic or undesired oils or compounds. |
