abstract The present invention provides a laminate used for a negative electrode of a lithium ion secondary battery having a high capacity and excellent in safety, economy, and cycle characteristics. The laminate has a conductive base material and a composite layer provided on the conductive base material. The composite layer includes a plurality of silicon oxide particles and a conductive substance present in the gaps between the plurality of silicon oxide particles. The average particle diameter of the silicon oxide particles is 1.0 μm or less. The laminate further has a conductive layer provided on the composite layer and containing a conductive substance. The thickness of the conductive layer is 20 μm or less.
