In various embodiments, the effluent management layer can be positioned on the body-facing surface of the topsheet layer. The exudates management layer has a first member defining an opening for directing bodily exudates into the absorbent core. The exudate management layer has a second part that at least partially overlaps the first part of the exudate management layer overly and is further along the longitudinal direction of the absorbent article in a direction toward all sides. extending in the direction of the rear region of the absorbent article.
