A remote base meter (130) communicates via a power line communication network with a centralized meter, which is a proxy device in an automated metering management system representing a plurality of such remote base meters. The control unit (352) processes atomic commands from the following set of atomic commands originating from the centralized meter: time setting command; open command of the circuit breaker (355); close command of the circuit breaker (355); send to the centralized meter a command to read a meter; and a command to send the status of the remote base meter (130). |
