abstract The invention belongs to the technical field of biology, and particularly relates to a tilapia gilvum brain nerve cell line, a transfection method, a culture method and application thereof. The application separates and cultures an immortal cell line from brain tissue of genetically improved farmed tilapia, and the immortal cell line is named as TBN. The cell line has morphological characteristics similar to neurons, expresses a series of marker genes of nerve cells, and is a nerve precursor cell line; it is sensitive to low temperatures and cannot survive at low temperatures of 16 ℃ and below; and the transfection is easy, and the transfection efficiency is up to 52 percent by adopting an electroporation method. The cell line can be used as a good model for researching the cold resistance related gene function of tilapia and fills up the blank of related fields.
