abstract The present application provides a method for in vitro diagnosis of a hemostatic disorder in a plasma sample obtained from a subject, the method comprising the steps of: a) contacting a plasma sample obtained from the subject with activated carbon; b) recovering the plasma sample from the activated carbon; c) determining the clotting ability of the plasma sample obtained in step (b), wherein the ability of the plasma sample to clot is indicative of the presence, progression or severity of the subject to cease blood disorders, and optionally the nature of hemostatic disorders.
