The invention belongs to the technical fields of plant molecular genetics and genetic engineering, and provides cloning and application of a peanut flowering habit gene AhFH1 and its allelic variation. Defunctional alleles can cause peanuts to change from alternate flowering to continuous flowering; by overexpression of the gene AhFH1 or supplementation of self-promoter expression to continuous flowering peanut varieties, it can be converted to alternate flowering; through the expression of AhFH1 gene Knockout or inhibition of expression can transform alternate flowering peanuts into continuous flowering; molecular marker-assisted selective breeding is achieved through the allelic variation of the gene by molecular markers, and the gene and its promoter are used by molecular biotechnology to correlate the flowering habit of peanuts. Alternate-continuous flowering and the resulting traits of peanut branch number, pod number, pod concentration, maturity consistency and pod yield are used for genetic improvement or molecular breeding in biotechnology. |
