An oxygen permeation element (10) having an anode (13), a cathode (12) and a solid electrolyte (11). By applying a voltage between the anode (13) and the cathode (12), oxygen contained in the atmosphere on the cathode (12) side passes through the solid electrolyte (11) and permeates to the anode (13) side. There is an intermediate layer (15, 16) between at least one of the anode (13) and the cathode (12) and the solid electrolyte (11). The intermediate layers (15, 16) contain oxides of bismuth. The solid electrolyte (11) contains oxides of lanthanum. |
