titleOfInvention Particle beam therapy device and irradiation field forming method
abstract The present invention provides a particle beam therapy apparatus and a method for forming an irradiation field. The object of the present invention is to expand the irradiation field without increasing the size of a scanning unit or an irradiation apparatus including the scanning unit in the particle beam therapy apparatus. A displacement part (36) is provided on the downstream side of the scanning part (34). The displacement unit (36) deflects the carbon beam as the particle beam to displace the irradiation field, thereby generating an enlarged irradiation field. The displacement unit (36) includes a first displacement electromagnet (42) that displaces the irradiation field in the Y direction, and a second displacement electromagnet (44) that displaces the irradiation field in the X direction. The scanning unit (34) is dynamically controlled, and the displacement unit (36) is statically controlled.
