abstract The invention provides a composite catalyst for synthesizing polycarbonate by a transesterification method and a preparation method of a polycarbonate intermediate. The composite catalyst comprises imidazole ionic liquid and organic metal complex, and the molar ratio of the imidazole ionic liquid to the organic metal complex is 1: 10-100. The preparation method comprises the following steps: and (2) taking carbonate and a dihydroxy compound as raw materials, and reacting under the catalytic action of the composite catalyst to obtain the polycarbonate intermediate. The composite catalyst provided by the invention has good catalytic activity, can effectively inhibit side reactions in a prepolymerization stage of polycarbonate synthesis by an ester exchange method, improves the conversion rate and selectivity of the ester exchange reaction, shortens the reaction time, and provides favorable conditions for further synthesizing high-quality polycarbonate.
