The problem to be solved by the present invention is to provide a liquid crystal composition that satisfies various properties required for a liquid crystal composition and has improved response speed and contrast, and provides a liquid crystal display element using the same. The present invention provides a liquid crystal composition comprising a compound represented by the general formula (i) and one or more compounds selected from the compounds represented by the general formula (L). In particular, it is useful as an n-type liquid crystal composition containing an n-type compound having a negative dielectric anisotropy. At the same time, a liquid crystal display element using the liquid crystal composition is provided. |
