abstract The invention provides a rubber tree mitochondrial hexokinase gene shown as SEQ ID NO. 1, and a coding protein and application thereof. The invention clones the full-length cDNA of rubber tree hexokinase HbHXK4 gene for the first time, the protein coded by the gene has the function of hexokinase, and the growth rate of the transgenic strain obtained after the gene is transferred into the prokaryotic expression strain is obviously improved under the normal culture condition. The gene expression analysis shows that the gene is highly expressed in bark, seeds and leaves, and the expression level of the gene in the same family gene in latex is the highest; and the gene is induced by tapping to be up-regulated and is positively correlated with the latex yield of the rubber tree, and is induced by ethylene and high and low temperature stress to be down-regulated and expressed, and the gene is possibly correlated with external stress stimulation and can be used as a target gene to research the effect of preventing and controlling abiotic stress. In addition, the gene can be used as an important gene resource and can also be applied to genetic engineering of other plants or microorganisms except for the rubber tree.
