abstract | The invention discloses a ball-end milling cutter, which comprises a cutting part and a handle part; the cutting part comprises a ball head cutting part and a spiral cutting part, and the ball head cutting part comprises an undercut cutting edge and a tooth clearance surface; the spiral cutting part comprises a peripheral cutting edge, a front cutter face, a rear cutter face and a chip groove; the undercut cutting edge of the ball head cutting part is formed by alternately arranging at least one straight cutting edge and at least one S-shaped cutting edge; and the edge shape of the straight cutting edge close to the central part is linear, the straight line gradually transits to the circular arc along with the extension to the peripheral side, and the curvature radius of the circular arc is gradually reduced until the straight cutting edge is connected with the spiral cutting part. The invention can slow down the vibration of the cutter in the cutting process and prevent the breakage of the cutting edge; the problem that chips are easily blocked by a traditional ball head cutting edge can be solved, secondary cutting of a tool tip is avoided, abrasion of the tool tip of the bottom edge is relieved, and therefore the performance of the tool is improved. |
