abstract |
The present disclosure provides an applicator and method for applying a microneedle array to the skin. The applicator can include a body having a first portion defining a cavity and a second portion having a slot present on an outer surface for inserting the microneedle array into the cavity. The first portion and the second portion are slidable relative to each other along an axis such that the body is in an unfilled configuration and a filled configuration. The applicator also includes a door operable with the second portion, the door being movable from a first door position to a second door position, wherein the door at least partially blocks the narrow door when the device is in an unloaded configuration Slots and channels leading to the cavity. When the device is in the charged configuration, the door does not block the slot and enables access to the cavity. |
