Silk woven fabrics are known for their tactile feel. However, the disadvantages of silk are its price, its poor washfastness and its low resistance to certain chemical treatments. Therefore, it is an object of the present invention to provide a filamentary woven fabric which overcomes these problems. According to the present invention, this problem is solved by providing a filamentary woven fabric (2) made of weft yarns (4) and warp yarns (6), wherein at least one of the weft yarns (4) and warp yarns (6) Contains or consists of Lyocell Filament (8). Especially using twisted lyocell filament yarns, the resulting material has a feel that is comparable to silk and has physical properties that equal or even exceed those of silk. Furthermore, the lyocell filament yarns (4, 6) may have a higher twist than silk, other cellulosic or synthetic yarns. |
