abstract The invention discloses a ground runoff flow detection device and method. The device adopts volumetric method for measurement, including a water-receiving box, a volumetric flow measurement unit and a data recording module. The water-receiving box is composed of multiple stages of sizes, and is equipped with multiple water outlets with different heights and different inflow capacities, which can automatically trigger multiple groups of volumetric flow measurement units according to the size of the rainwater runoff. The volumetric flow measurement unit can be composed of a metering container and an overturned valve, and the flow rate is calculated by the automatic opening times and time of the overturned valve. The data recording unit can simultaneously record the time and the number of valve overturns, and can be converted into a flow process line. The device does not need power, can be installed in the rainwater inlet, has a large range of detection flow and high precision, and is suitable for ground runoff detection.
