The technology described herein relates to a piece of trouser garment (300) that includes a pattern (122, 132) of a durable water repellent (DWR) coating selectively applied to the leg (320A) of the pair of trousers , 222, 370). The pattern (122, 132, 222, 370) includes a plurality of discrete shapes (342, 344, 348) isolated from each other. In other words, the textile (100) material surrounding each of the plurality of discrete shapes (342, 344, 348) is not coated with the DWR coating. The dimensions of the plurality of discrete shapes (342, 344, 348) in the pattern (122, 132, 222, 370) begin at the hemmed edge and move up the pant leg (320A) gradually decreasing to the knee area (240, 250, 340, 350). The pattern (122, 132, 222, 370) is visible during wet conditions and invisible during dry conditions. |
