abstract An object of the present invention is to safely and efficiently perform industrial-scale production of diiodosilane utilizing the reaction between phenylsilane and iodine. There is provided a method for producing diiodosilane, which starts the reaction of phenylsilane and iodine at low temperature, and at least includes a step of transferring the reaction solution while continuously raising the temperature in small amounts after the dropping and mixing steps are completed.
