abstract The invention discloses 1-aryl-tetrazolium-5-nitrile and 2-aryl-tetrazolium-5-nitrile and preparation methods thereof. The method uses aryl diazonium salts as starting materials, and under the catalysis of metal silver salts, 2-aryl-tetrazolium can be obtained with good yield, superior regiospecificity and broad substrate universality azole-5-carbonitrile (I); in the absence of metallic silver salt, 2-aryl-tetrazolium-5-carbonitrile (I) and 1-aryl-tetrazolium can be simultaneously obtained in good overall yield azole-5-carbonitrile (II), wherein 1-aryl-tetrazolium-5-carbonitrile (II) is the main product. The present invention also discloses the one-pot synthesis of 2-aryl-tetrazolium-5-nitrile (I) starting from aromatic amines, which is suitable for aromatic amine substrates containing hydroxyl, carboxyl, pyridine, carboxylate and amide groups thing. The invention provides a new practical method for the synthesis of the cyano group-containing tetrazolium compound, and the raw materials are readily available, the operation is simple, and the substrate universality is good.
