titleOfInvention Catheter device for re-entry lumen and method of use
abstract A catheter device for re-entry to a lumen is provided. The catheter device includes a catheter shaft having a lumen extending from a proximal end to a distal end, and an expansion member positioned at the distal end of the catheter shaft. The catheter shaft has an inner wall defining a central lumen extending from the proximal end portion to the distal end portion along the longitudinal axis of the lumen. The expansion member is configured to receive fluid that selectively expands the expansion member from a first volume to a second volume, the second volume being greater than the first volume, to provide a deflection surface oriented at an angle relative to a longitudinal axis of the cavity. The deflection member provides a surface for angling the guidewire away from the distal opening (ie, not a separate side hole) at the tip of the catheter shaft.
