titleOfInvention | Light-Based Therapy Devices |
abstract | The present invention relates to a phototherapy device article, system and method for delivering light having wavelengths of 614-624nm, 668-684nm, 751-772nm and 813-846nm from a light source to the skin via one or more optical fibers. The light source may consist of one or more light emitting diodes LEDs disposed on a flexible printed circuit board (PCB) and a ferrule adapter assembly configured to transmit directly to the patient's skin from a light source disposed on the PCB adjacent the scalp surface Light. A control circuit operably connected to the PCB is adapted to provide energy to one or more areas of the LEDs to address hair loss treatment regimens, including patchy baldness, receding hairline baldness, crown baldness, and whole scalp treatment. Therefore, a portable cordless hands-free phototherapy device can be configured as a patient-worn headgear to minimize the negative psychological associations of hair loss, while still providing effective hair growth treatment at an affordable price. |
