titleOfInvention Drying process and equipment
abstract The present invention relates to ultrasonic-assisted drying processes and equipment for materials, particularly, but not limited to, low-temperature drying of heat-sensitive materials. In particular, the present invention provides a dehydration device for water-containing materials, comprising an ultrasonic transmitter; an ultrasonic transmission platform directly or indirectly supporting the material; a fluid retained between the transmitter and the platform through which ultrasonic energy is transmitted; and gas flow means for directing drying gas to the material. The present invention also provides a method for dehydrating a water-containing material, comprising disposing the material directly or indirectly on an ultrasonic transmission platform of a dewatering device, and exposing the material under conditions suitable for achieving the desired degree of dehydration of the material. a time suitable to achieve the desired degree of dehydration of the material in ultrasonic energy and a drying gas stream, the dehydration apparatus including an ultrasonic transmitter; a fluid retained between the transmitter and the platform through which the ultrasonic energy is transmitted; and gas flow means for directing drying gas to the material. In another aspect, the present invention provides a material dewatered by the above method or apparatus.
