titleOfInvention | High peel strength hydrophobic copolymers and methods of making the same |
abstract | The invention relates to a high-peel-strength hydrophobic copolymer and a preparation method thereof. The copolymer comprises the following copolymerized units: 1)25-45 wt.% (meth) acrylic acid C 2‑16 Alkyl ester copolymerized units; 2)25-35 wt.% C 6‑12 Vinyl versatate copolymerization units; 3) 10-20% by weight of ethylenically unsaturated copolymerized units having benzene rings; and 4)10 to 30% by weight of copolymerized units of an ester of (meth) acrylic acid and a polyepoxy compound; the high peel strength hydrophobic copolymer has a weight average molecular weight of 30000-120000. The polymer has good stability, can be used as a fabric waterproof agent, does not contain fluorine-containing components such as PFOA/PFOS and the like, has excellent water repellency and washability, has high peeling strength after being treated by the finishing agent, and can be used for waterproof finishing of various substrates such as fabrics, microfiber leather and the like. |
