Additive manufacturing based on fluid-fluid interface |
abstract |
This article describes systems and methods for embedded printing for additive manufacturing. Print the print material into the support material. The printing material and the support material each have a fluid phase and a solid phase. The printing material transitions from a fluid phase to a solid phase based on a fluid-fluid interaction with the support material. One or more parameters of the support material may be adjusted such that the diffusivity of the printing material into the support material during the fluid-fluid interaction is less than a threshold. Multiple printing materials can be printed into the support material at the same time. |
