abstract The present invention provides a polysiloxane-polyester block copolymer comprising: (i) a siloxane resin block comprising: a siloxane unit represented by the formula R 1 SiO 3/2 , wherein R 1 is a monovalent hydrocarbon group and optionally contains siloxane units represented by the formula SiO 4/2 ; (ii) a linear block of siloxane represented by the formula (R 2 2 SiO 2/2 ) n wherein each each R 2 is independently a monovalent hydrocarbon group, and "n" is a positive number of at least 5; and (iii) a polyester block. Polysiloxane-polyester block copolymers can be used as protective coatings on substrates made of aluminum, stainless steel, iron, plastic or Made of glass.
