The invention belongs to the technical field of tobacco genetic engineering, and in particular relates to a patent application for an NtOEP1 gene that affects tobacco pigment content and its application. The gene includes 999 bp bases, wherein the 153-522 nucleotide is its specific core fragment, and its base sequence is as shown in SEQ ID NO.1; it encodes 332 amino acids, and the amino acid sequence is as shown in SEQ ID NO.1. 2 shown. In the present application, through the cloning and analysis of the tobacco NtOEP1 gene, this gene has an important application in the regulation of tobacco pigment synthesis pathway, and is highly correlated with the content of pigment substances in plant leaves. Further through virus-mediated gene silencing technology, the inventors found that after silencing the NtOEP1 gene, the content of pigments in the new transgenic plants was significantly reduced. Utilizing this characteristic can provide new strategies and paths for the genetic engineering breeding of tobacco or the breeding of other new plant varieties. |
