abstract Embodiments of the present application provide a method and device for classifying Ethernet packets based on multiple classifiers. The method is applied to an ASIC chip. In the method, the acquired Ethernet packet is parsed to obtain domain segment information. Using multiple classifiers, each classifier can match the field segment information of different types of Ethernet packets, and match the field segment information obtained by parsing with multiple classifiers, and the field segment information of the packet can match at least one classifier. If they match, the corresponding Ethernet packet can be sent to the corresponding queue of the matched classifier. The method and the device provided by the embodiments of the present application are applied to the ASIC chip, and the Ethernet packet is classified before the Ethernet packet processing process is handed over to the upper-layer software and the host CPU, which provides an extremely high level for the further processing of the packet by the upper-layer application. Great flexibility, improve the efficiency of Ethernet packet processing, avoid consuming the computing resources of the host CPU, and improve the running speed of the host CPU.
