A preparation method of a gel plugging agent for oil fields, comprising the following steps: S1. preparing a base liquid; S2. polymerizing reaction. The preparation method is simple and convenient, low in equipment cost, economical, and environmentally friendly; the obtained plugging agent has strong plugging ability, and can be used to plug formation pores and cracks of different sizes to prevent foreign fluids from invading the formation. In order to achieve the purpose of maintaining wellbore stability and improving oil recovery.
