The present application relates to blood testing. The present invention provides a composition for detecting blood, which comprises 3, 3 ', 5, 5' -tetramethylbenzidine, cumene hydroperoxide and a surfactant. The composition is an aqueous solution. The surfactant is an anionic surfactant or a nonionic surfactant. The composition can be used for detecting occult blood in blood, especially saliva. The invention also describes a method for detecting blood using the composition, a kit comprising the composition and the use of a surfactant to reduce the time taken to detect blood. |
