titleOfInvention | Nucleotide sequences and methods for controlling insect infestation |
abstract | The present invention relates to a nucleotide sequence and a method thereof for controlling insect infestation, the isolated polynucleotide sequence comprising: (a) the polynucleotide sequence shown in SEQ ID NO: 1; or (b) SEQ ID NO: 1 A polynucleotide sequence of at least 15 or 17 or 19 or 21 contiguous nucleotides of ID NO: 1, wherein a coleopteran insect pest ingests a double-stranded RNA comprising at least one strand complementary to said polynucleotide sequence , inhibiting the growth of the coleopteran insect pest; or (c) any polynucleotide sequence shown in SEQ ID NO:3 to SEQ ID NO:8; or (d) under stringent conditions with the above (a) , a polynucleotide sequence that hybridizes or is complementary to the polynucleotide sequence defined in (b) or (c). The invention discloses for the first time multiple target sequences of the target gene c40514 for controlling the coleopteran insect pest, the two-spotted firefly beetle, which is highly efficient, specific, convenient and low in cost. |
