The present invention relates to compounds of formula (I) as described in the specification. The present invention also relates to a method for extracting membrane proteins bound to biological membranes, said method comprising the step of contacting an aqueous solution of membrane proteins bound to said biological membranes with at least one compound of the invention. The present invention also relates to a method of stabilizing a solution of a membrane protein in an aqueous solution, the method comprising the step of contacting the aqueous solution of the membrane protein in solution with at least one compound of the invention. |
