abstract |
The present disclosure relates to glass substrate processing methods. A method of processing an antimicrobial glass substrate is described. More specifically, a method of removing one or more of silver nitrate or silver oxide on the surface of an antimicrobial glass substrate is described. A method of making a glass substrate substantially free of yellow discoloration is also described. The method comprises contacting a glass substrate comprising one or more of silver nitrate and silver oxide with a solution comprising halide ions in a first ultrasonic bath to provide a glass substrate comprising silver halide; Operating the first ultrasonic tank at a first frequency; in the second ultrasonic tank, contacting the glass substrate comprising silver halide with a detergent solution comprising phosphate to remove the silver halide from the glass substrate; A second ultrasonic tank is operated at a second frequency of the first frequency. |
