abstract |
The present invention relates to bacterial infections, vaccines and bacterial vaccines against those infections. More specifically, the present invention relates to vaccines against Streptococcus infection in pigs. The present invention provides ΔFolT mutants of bacteria that have a reduced ability to transport folate, wherein the ability has been reduced by functional deletion of folate transporter (FolT) function. The present invention also provides methods of reducing bacterial virulence comprising reducing the ability of said bacteria to transport folic acid. |
