The present invention includes an aqueous polyolefin-based coating having improved characteristics compared to epoxy coatings. The coating compositions of the present invention comprise: 40 to 80 weight percent (wt %) of a matrix polymer that is a non-functional ethylene polymer and not a non-functional ethylene/propylene copolymer; 5 to 15 wt % a polymeric coupling agent of % is a value based on the total weight of the base polymer, the polymeric coupling agent, the polymeric stabilizer, and (when present) the polymeric property improver of the coating composition and totals 100 wt % . |
